Studio A

Studio A is the main studio at Castlerock. This studio features a large live room, one semi-isolated booth called the glass house and another isolation room. The control room has an Alesis X2 mixing console, a 24 track 2-inch tape machine, as well as Pro-Tools 11. It is also equipped with a huge range of analogue and digital outboard gear and a massive number of state-of-the-art plug-ins. So whether you want to go analogue, digital or a mixture of both, Studio A has everything you need.

Studio A also has a massive range of microphones for any application, including the MXL Genesis II, MXL Gold 35, RØDE K2 and a Nuemann TLM 103, just to name a few. Here at Castlerock we also have a massive range of drumkits (acoustic and electric), guitars, basses, amplifiers, percussion instruments, etc. available for use.

Studio B

Studio B is our upstairs studio. This studio features a large live room and one isolation room. The control room has a Digidesign C|24 control surface, interface and mixing console to control Pro-Tools 11. Studio B is primarily a digital studio however, it does have a collection of analogue and digital outboard gear as well as a massive range of state-of-the-art plug-ins.

Studio B also has a massive range of microphones for any application, including the MXL Genesis II, MXL Gold 35, RØDE K2 and a Nuemann TLM 103, just to name a few. Here at Castlerock we also have a massive range of drumkits (acoustic and electric), guitars, basses, amplifiers, percussion instruments, etc. available for use.

Mapex Saturn Series (Yellow Ocher Finish)

This drumkit was used by Session Drummer Glen Sobel on the Australian leg of his worldwide clinic tour in 2013. It consists of:

Currently on tour with rock legend Alice Cooper, Glen Sobel has played in a variety of genres including rock, hip hop, pop, metal, punk, and fusion. Glen has toured and/or recorded with a large number of international acts throughout his career including, Sixx A.M. Elliot Yamin, Paul Gilbert, Vasco Rossi, Steven Tyler, Rob Halford, Weird Al Yankovich, Pat Simmons, Ke$ha, Johnny Depp, Mike Meyers, Michael McDonald, Robbie Krieger, Orianthi, Chris Impellitteri, Jennoifer Batten, Tony Macalpine, Beautiful Creatues, Cypress Hill, the list goes on. Mapex Orion Series (Wine Red Finish)

This drumkit was used by Gregg Bissonette on the Australian Leg of his worldwide clinic tour in 2013. It consists of:

Gregg Bissonette is best known for his ability to play in a wide variety of styles. Gregg has played with Joe Satriani, Gino Vannelli, Tania Maria, Brian Wilson, Robin Zander, David Lee Roth, Ringo Starr, James Taylor, Toto, Ray Charles, Don Henley, Santana and many others.

Another highlight of his career was being invited to perform on the Buddy Rich Memorial Concert and video.

Gregg also has two instructional videos: “Private Lesson” and “Playing, Reading and Soloing With A Band.” Both videos have been made into books with play along music and are available on DCI. Gregg also has two solo CDs, Gregg Bissonette and Submarine, which he did with his brother Matt.

Gregg recently played on Santana’s Grammy winning album, Supernatural, and the song “El Farol” which was named “Best Pop Instrumental” at the 2000 Grammy Awards.
Gregg recently completed a spring 2003 tour with Ringo Starr, to which he admits “was one of the greatest musical highlights of his life.”

Gregg joined the MAPEX family in May 1997 and is strong international spokesperson for MAPEX, conducting dozens of clinics worldwide every year
